2011 Monte Carlo Rolex Masters tennis tournament. Robredo has been on redemption road after an ordinary last season and like other Spaniards, he also enjoys playing on clay. The Spaniard has won 10 ATP titles in his career so far and he has it all to make it to World Top 10 again. Robredo has a 16-4 win-loss record this season and he has already won a clay-court tournament in Santiago.
On the other hand, it has been a good season for Dodig so far, as he has an 11-6 win-loss record. The Croatian has also won the Zagreb title. There has not been much difference in the highest ranking and current ranking of the Croatian. Hence, he would be under less pressure as compared to Robredo, who has been trying hard lately to redeem his position in the world of tennis.
This will be the second-meeting between the two contenders. Last time they met in Stockholm, Sweden where Dodig edged past the Spaniard in straight sets with a 6-3 6-2 scoreline. Obviously, Robredo enjoys an edge over the Croatian, as like other Spaniards he plays really well on red soil.
